This exercise gets you accustomed to opening your mouth in a very specific way. The jaw moves down and back. Don't let your chin thrust forward when you open your mouth. The tip of the tongue goes to the 'N' position with breath pressure right behind it. As you open, the breath continues moving along the same trajectory. There are eight repetitions, modulating a half step up each time.
