This exercise increases resonance. As you hum, you can feel buzzing and tickling on your lips and in your nose. If the hum gets too high, switch to an "ooh" vowel. Check to make sure the base of your tongue is relaxed while you do this exercise. The best way to do this is to place your index finger horizontally under your chin where your tongue connects to your throat. Keep this area as soft as possible. As you hum, let your tongue rest on the floor of your mouth. Keep your lips together and your teeth apart. The exercise is done twice modulating from the key of B flat to the key of E flat.
